Step-by-Step Wedding Planning for the Long Island Bride

Keep Calm and Plan a Wedding with Lombardi Caterers!

He popped the question, she said yes and it’s time to start your Happily Ever After. Now what? Well, now it’s time to plan the Wedding! But keep calm–here are a list of steps, put together by the Banquet Sales team at Villa Lombardi’s, to help you plan out your Wedding from start to finish!

  • -Bride and Groom should first compile a guest list
  • -Together, establish an estimated Wedding budget.
  • -Schedule an appointment to meet with one of Lombardi Caterer’s Catering Managers at either Villa Lombardi’s, Lombardi’s on the Bay or Lombardi’s on the Sound. During your initial meeting, you will tour the grounds of the facility, discuss different menu options and select your Wedding date.
  • -At time of booking, a formal contract and deposit are required; a schedule of payments is arranged on your contract, to assist with your Wedding budgeting.
  • -Research Lombardi Caterer’s preferred vendor list and schedule appointments to book them for your wedding day. Find a link to our recommended Wedding vendors on our website
  • -Mail out “Save-the-Dates” to your previously compiled guest lists. (For Save-the-Dates and invitations, we recommend Jessica Leigh Paperie!)
  • -Approximately two months prior to your wedding mail out the invitations; Lombardi Caterer’s will provide direction cards for you (don’t forget to include directions to your ceremony location and hotel information).
  • -4 to 6 weeks prior to your wedding your Catering Manager/Party Planner will contact you to schedule your party planning appointment to

    finalize your affair. At this appointment, you will make your menu and Wedding cake selections, customizing your affair. You will also be given the opportunity to add on any specialty stations or upgraded items to your menu. (The cannoli station is a popular addition!) At this meeting you will also finalize your linen colors, arrival time, go over any special instructions or requests. At the end of the meeting, a floor plan and place cards will be provided to you.

  • -10-days prior to your Wedding, you will meet with your Banquet Manager for your final appointment, where the final touches will be put together!
  • -The week of your wedding, you will be able to drop off your favors, guest book, card box and any other items for your Wedding Day.
  • -Finally, your Wedding Day has arrived! Enjoy a day that to celebrate each other as Husband and Wife–and remember, Keep Calm–it’s your Wedding Day!
